Paris Bag Giveaway

Hi there I hope you have seen my Paris Bag give-away? if not see previous post. I don't know how to link it sorry am still working the blog thing out. Anyway thank you to all who have commented so far. you have to be in it to win it right, and at this stage the odds are pretty good. I will post anywhere in the world also. Well its been a busy week with EOFYS, and so I am having next week off to go up to the retreat with the family for a few days which will be so nice to relax and hopefully get a little but of sewing done, fingers crossed. The girls will take some friends, otherwise its way tooo boring. can u imagine that. no me either.
We are getting ready to have new carpet laid in our house this week so that is such a big job and I have to take everything out of my sewing room come office.... this is bad news for me as hubby may see what I actually have stashed away in there, and it has been growing rather rapidly this year...........bugger.........Anyway in the clearing, chucking, cleaning  process I found the lovely batik quilt I bought when were in Bali a few years ago for a mere $25.00. It is so lovely. it has not been quilted, its just the top with a rayon fabric backing. My intention is to remove the rayon and replace it with a black cotton, I am not sure if I should  bat and quilt it or just replace the rayon. With our climate it would be nice for summer but not so nice with Rayon it would be a sweat heaven if i dont replace it with cotton.
what do you think?
happy stitching and good luck with winning the Retreat/Paris Traveller bag pattern

Cheers and thanks for dropping by............Stacey

Giveaway

My first ever giveaway of the Paris Traveller's bag pattern by figtree.I made my  new Retreat Bag a few weeks back.
If you would love a copy of this wonderful pattern please leave a comment about the thing you love best about  Retreat or a favourite Paris Memory, I love ......................... I would also like you to become a friend of circle retreat quilter, if you are not already, its that easy. if you are already lets hear thank you so.... lets hear your best memory or moment.

There are so many wonderful things about both I could go on and on. What about when you go on retreat and you stay up late sewing most of the night, having a few wines and sew with no bobbin thread when you are quilting a very long line and dont notice for so long, its the standing joke for the rest of the weekend. Bloody Nora............oh that was such a great weekend. topped off with Moet the next night. ahhh
Goodluck.. Stacey I will post anywhere in the world to you.
thanks for dropping by.

So all you need to do is become a friend of Circle Retreat Quilter, if you are not already and leave me a comment about what you love about either  going on quilt/craft retreats or a special Paris moment.

So I will start. I love Paris and everything about it. The late show at the Moulin Rouge was amazing.

Hexagons and chick flicks

Well does a Sunday get any better than some Chick Flicks and some sewing I ask you?????????? well I guess I can think of a few great options but today this is my great Sunday arvo. It started with catching the end of 7 brides for 7 brothers. ( my sister's all time fav movie and an old favourite for many). I watched Jane Austin Regrets..... this was a lovely movie I had never seen and then to top it all off "The girls with the pearl earring".
I have done some mending in between, boring but necessary, my hex  pile is growing and I am now onto making random flowers for the borders. I hope you all have had a lovely lazy Sunday...... well I did a 5km hill walk this morning to make up for the wine and red rock  deli chippys this afternoon. happy Sunday, Stacey

The above pics are from my daughters yr 12 formal last week.

I thought you may like to see some of the lovely dresses worn by these stunning 16-17 yr olds.

R n R @ quilt retreat

The lovely ladies from Kawana Waters Quilt group came for there second stay @  Circle Retreat  this weekend just gone. There was lots of laughter and sewing with some receipe swaps going on. I popped up for the morning to say hello and stayed to make cappuchino's with a leason or two thrown in.They were busy doing quilts and a few being made for some special 90 yr old birthdays.

It's a lovely thing to go on retreat  and sew, it does the heart and soul wonders. .
I hope you have an awesome day. If you havent been on retreat with your friends, please come and stay.

Quilt Retreat on the Sunshine Coast

Well the new Homespun is out and so is the new Ad for Circle Retreat. I have had a few enquires and bookings this week, which is wonderful. You never know if people read and remember, when you advertise. Not a cheap exercise but wonderful way to get the word out. Have you seen the ad if you buy this mag i would love to hear any feedback you have for me, should I change the photo? or the colouring? etc
Well this week has been busy with EOFS with my real job and finishing my  book from previous post.... but daughter no 1 needed to bake for one of her friends birthdays at school and i had just read Mon Petit Poppet 'had a great little receipe for these Choccie Afghan Biscuits. so anyway we wipped up a batch and they are so good- i substituted the walnuts for almonds. awesome highly recommend and everything was in the pantry, which always rates highly in my book. I have pinched Steph's photo. Ours never made it to photo stage or in fact they didnt make it to school the next day. oops.......

Thanks for dropping by and id love to hear your thoughts. Stacey
